SAINT LUCIA SAINT LUCIA HIV/AIDS PREVENTION & CONTROL PROJECT LOAN # 7252 –SLU, CREDIT # 3947-SLU, GRANT # H112-SLU PROCUREMENT OF COMPUTERS
1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement
Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. 649
of February 28, 2005. 2. The Government of Saint Lucia has received a loan in the amount of US$ 3.2 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, a credit and grant each in the amount of US$1.6 million equivalent million equivalent from the International Development Association toward the cost of the Saint Lucia HIV/AIDS Prevention & Control Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan and credit to payments for the procurement of Computers for the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Family Affairs, National Mobilisation, Human Services and Gender Relations.
3. The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Family Affairs, National Mobilisation, Human Services and Gender Relations represented by the Project Coordination Unit of Ministry of Economic Affairs now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Procurement of one hundred and twenty nine (129) computers. 4. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders.
5. Interested bidders may obtain further information from the Project Coordination Unit, American Drywall Building, 2nd Floor, Vide Bouteille, Castries, Saint Lucia, Telephone # 1-758-468-2180 ext 5567/63, Mondays through Fridays and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 0900 hours (9:00 a.m.) to 1600 hours (4:00 p.m.).
6. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below (*) and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of EC$150 or the equivalent in United States dollars from April 30, 2008. The method of payment will be by money order or cashier’s check payable to the Saint Lucia HIV/AIDS Prevention & Control Project. The document will be sent by courier for overseas delivery and mail for local delivery.
Bids must be delivered to the address below (**) at or before 1200 hours (12:00 noon) on June 11, 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Eastern Caribbean seven thousand dollars (EC$7,000.00) (or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency). Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below (***) at 1400 hours (2:00 p.m.) on June 11, 2008.
