I am truly delighted to address this note to you, on this very special occasion, being the first Saint Lucian National to represent the West Indies in the arena of test cricket.

Your attainment of this very special milestone is just reward for your years of hard work and dedication, the many hours of practice, as you tried to improve your skills and the discipline which you demonstrated along the way. This achievement will serve as an inspiration to Saint Lucians in general, not only cricketers and the cricket loving public, but our youth in particular. May you serve as a role model to them and testimony, to what can be achieved through discipline and hard work.

On behalf of myself, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Government and people of Saint Lucia I take this opportunity to extend our sincere congratulations and good wishes. You have made us all proud.
